Q: Is it possible to have catering provided on my charter?
A: Yes, several custom catering options are available from us at an additional charge. Please call us to discuss! No disappointments here! If you have any food allergies, please be sure to bring them to our attention.
Q: What do I need to bring on my fishing trip?
A: Everything you need for an enjoyable time on the water is provided on board. We provide all the fishing gear, crab traps and prawn traps and more! We would recommend that you dress for the season. Please bring your camera, sunscreen, sunglasses and any food and drink that you will need. We have required fishing licenses on board.
Q: Am I allowed to keep my catch? How about Catch and Release?
A: Yes, you may keep your catch. As a matter of fact, we encourage it! There’s nothing like eating fresh salmon, crab and prawns that you caught! If you choose to Catch and Release while on charter, we applaud you! Sustainable fishing practices and conservation have never been more important in today’s fisheries. Salmon Anglers are widely regarded as fanatical stewards of the resource. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a fish for the table!
Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes, there is plenty of convenient, safe and secure day and term parking just a short walk from our docks in the Westin Bayshore Parkades. The parking.
Q: Do you clean our catch?
A: Complimentary cleaning and bagging of your catch is provided with each charter.
Q: What do your charters include?
A: All of our charters are fully inclusive. The boat, guide, captain, fishing gear and fuel are all included. All you have to bring is some food and drink, appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and an attitude set to fun! Get ready to have fun! Our charters do not include guide gratuities (much appreciated), fishing licenses (approx. $13/day), and applicable taxes (HST).
Q: Do you offer additional fish processing options?
A: Yes, we can recommend local firms who will further package your catch for travel and further process your catch. Canning, Hot and Cold Smoking (Lox), Gravlax, Salmon Jerky and Indian Candy are options
Q: Do I need a fishing license?
A: Yes, a saltwater fishing license is required by the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans to fish in Vancouver. We recommend you purchase a one day saltwater license (with Salmon Stamp) online so as to maximize your fishing experience with us. However, we conveniently have licenses available on board if needed.
Q: Are the Seas rough?
A: Generally, no. All of our boats are extremely seaworthy and safe. If the winds are up, we generally work to reschedule the charter with you or fish in other areas more conducive to a pleasurable fishing experience.
Q: Do you have a washroom on board?
A: All of our fishing boats have washroom facilities on board.
Q: I would like to tip the Captain and Guides. What amount should I tip?
A: Tipping your Captain and Guide while not required is greatly appreciated. Tip as you would at a restaurant based on the total of your bill.
Q: Is your operation conveniently located?
A: Our dock location is the most conveniently and centrally located operation in Vancouver. Our departure point is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver and is central to all transportation modes. Vancouver is one of the most liveable cities in North America and we are within walking distance of all downtown hotels, restaurants, convention facilities and entertainment venues.
Q: What Vancouver entertainment or attractions are close by your location?
A: We are located close to all major Venues and attractions in downtown Vancouver. Just a short walk or taxi ride and you can be watching the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena, BC Lions at BC Place, or boarding a Cruise Ship at the Vancouver Docks! Or, if you wish, sample some of Vancouver’s fantastic cuisine! We know all the best restaurants! We are just minutes from downtown Vancouver Hotels.
